Looking for a natural toenail fungus treatments can be as simple as taking a walk to your kitchen. Getting rid of a fingernail fungus or toenail fungus may take several days or even weeks to see any real results but with proper care and a little persistence the problem can be cured by yourself.

Fungus under toenails is a common problem and it can happen to anyone. The fungus often causes swelling, inflamation, yellowing of the nail and sometimes the nail completely falls off. The affected nail is usually not in any pain but if the fungus isn’t treated the infection can spread making it a lot worse.

There are many home remedies that can also get rid of the infection as well. Many of these home remedies are ingredients most people already have in their home. The following list includes just a few of the many home remedies that can be used:

The first treatment I will discuss is Apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar kills bacteria and fungi, this will help stop the fungus from spreading to other nails. When using the apple cider vinegar make sure to submerge the nail for at least 30 minutes a day until the fungus begins to fade away.

Another popular nail fungal infection treatment is oregano oil. This oil is known to speed up the recovery process because it has antibacterial and antifungal properties which help the body get rid of the infection quickly. To use oregano oil, simply add 2 drops of oil with 1 tsp of olive oil and apply to infected nail. Continual use of this mixture 2 times a week for at least 30 minutes each time will show an improvement in as little 3 weeks.

Another home remedy is listerine mouthwash. This may be surprising but the same mouthwash that kills germs in the mouth will also help in curing your nail fungus. When choosing the listerine remedy, mix a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and listerine. Let the nail soak for a minimum of 30 minutes then completely dry the nail. Using this solutiom 2 times a day will show significant improvememt in a matter of weeks.

Lemon Juice can also be used as a home remedy because the juice contains antiseptic and antifungal properties. The infection under the toenails will stop spreading because the citric acid in the lemon juice will help to cure the problem. Lemon juice should be applied for 30 minutes then rinsed off with warm water. This procedure should be repeated a couple times a week to achieve maximum results.

The last home remedy I want to discuss are essential oils such as lavender, orange and tea tree. These are great options in taming the nail fungus because they have antifungal properties which help speed the recovery time.

When using essential oils it is always best to use a dropper, if your skin is sensative it is a good idea to balance the essential oils with equal parts olive oil or grapeseed oil. Mixing the essential oils with olive oil helps to dilute the potency. Apply the oils and let sit on infected area for 30 minutes before removing with warm water. Keep up with this procedure 2-3 times a day and the recovery time will be much quicker.

All of these remedies are inexpensive and many of us already have them in our kitchen. It is important to take care of any fungal issues that arise right away to prevent the infection from spreading. It is important to use the ingredients properly and make sure no skin allergies exist before applying to the infected area.

If these home remedies are followed correctly and done consistently the appearance of the toenail fungus should drastically decrease. As long as the treatments are kept regular the nail infection will heal quickly, and the chances of losing the nail are slim.

Use terbinafine hydrochloride tablets or just have the nail removed. The other alternative is good old dental mouthash – it kills the bacteria. Then instead of adjusting your diet without any real reason, concentrate on personal hygiene and do not start touching parts of your body after your feet – or you will get other bits infected.
Never believe the advice on videos, most of it is rubbish or people say it takes years to complete – in that time it could have cleared on its own or people can not remember where the video is to tell everyone it is rubbish!

I had a fungus but it was not as bad as this.. I went to a podiatrist  I got a script and that was that. it  took a year  but it's a lot better…  I should have had the nail removed  but I was not sure if it would grow back.

Thanks for this video. A podiatrist gave me a prescription but it costs over $200 a month! Needless to say I'm looking for as many alternatives as possible.

The nail fungus is obviously very ugly and painful at times. It actually affects a lot of people. The fungus infection is caused by several factors like the wearing of shoes for long hours, poor hygiene, reactions to nail polish and even injuries. Having this is one of the most frustrating things. It makes you avoid using flip flops, slippers, and other open shoes. Imagine that feeling of embarrassment when going to get a pedicure. It can even stop you from actually going to the foot spa.

My dad has had toenail fungus before and it took us years to get it under control. focus on internal treatment if nothing seems to get rid of it. that made a big difference.

Thanks for the tips. I've had problems with nail fungus on my fingernails for quite some time now. It definitely is grossing people out when they see them. Hope this will help.

After having gone through similar fungus problems myself a few years back I did some research on the topic, I found that the problem affects up to 18% of the world population which is quite shocking. I visited my GP and gave me a referral for a lotion which cost around $40 so I decided to do some research on home remedies. The coconut oil really does help and not having your feet covered by socks all the time helps too. Very useful video and I applaud your commitment for toe fungus awareness.
