Starting Habit Number 3 – Organic Life Body

Yooo!! So today we start habit number 3 in the Organic Life Body Program. So far Richard has been doing the first 2 habits perfect.

The habits so far are:

Drink 2 tablespoons of raw, organic apple cider vinegar in 16 ounces of water immediately after waking up.
Have a green smoothie for breakfast.
Have 2 fist-sized portions (or 1/2 of a plate) worth of vegetables with every meal

Reasons to get more vegetables into your diet (condensed)

Reason 1 – Vegetables are high in vitamins and minerals. We need these to combat the stressors we are constantly being inundated with.

2. Vegetables are high in phytochemicals. These help prevent and reverse disease.

3. Fiber. This feeds good bacteria, helps keep us regular, helps detoxify the body, helps fill us up and keep us satiated.

4. Vegetables are alkaline. Almost everything the average American eats is acidic. Fruits and vegetables are alkaline. Acid foods leach minerals from our muscles and bones and may lead to osteoporosis. To prevent this, you can eat alkaline rich foods like fruits and vegetables.

5. Almost every single dietary theory out there recommends vegetables.

You should get in about 2 fist-sized portions, or about 1/2 a plate worth of vegetables with every meal.
