FYI: a chalazion is not a sty. A chalazion is the limp that appears caused by blocking and swelling of an oil gland in the eyelid. I had a chalazion on the bottom outer corner of my left eye for about two weeks. It was swollen and was sore but barely visible at first. I used a heat compress doe a few days and it helped with the swelling and pressure but didn’t make it go away. It got to the point where I could feel my eye being pushed up because of the swollen part under my eye. I got advice from Stilts at Sevananda in Little Five Points to use colloidal silver drops directly in my eyelid and it cleared up completely in a couple days.

THIS time one showed up on my top right eyelid after swelling suddenly about a week later. It was really big and using a heat compress didn’t work. It wasn’t budging. I found a post about using apple cider vinegar and gave it a shot. (Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture while it was really big) it was a lump that was the shape of a roly-poly and felt kinda like a grape. It got so big that my eyelid was being pushed down and my vision had become blurry. I thought I would gave to go to a doctor!

THIS METHOD CAN WORK! FIRST I USED TWO VISINE  EYE DROPS.  I  USED A SMALL COTTON PAD MAKE UP REMOVER PAD, SOAKED IN MYRR WATER (YOU CAN USE PLAIN WARM WATER OR APPLE CIDER VINEGAR ).I PUT A SMALL DAB OF VICKS VAPOUR RUB ON THE BUMP.  (BE CAREFULL NOT TO GET ANY INSIDE OUR EYE).I HEATED THE RICE INSIDE THE SOCK, IN THE MIRCOWAVE FOR 25-30 SECONDS.I TOOK THE COTTON PAD SOAKED IN MYRR WATER, PLACED IT OVER MY EYE THEN PUT THE HOT RICE PACK ONTOP OF THE COTTON PAD AND LAYDOWN UNTIL IT WAS COMPLETELY COOLED DOWN.DO THIS 3 TIMES FOR THE DAY, ESPECIALLY  BEFORE BED.THE OIL FROM THE BUMP SHOULD LEAK OUT DURING THE NIGHT.

Wait, do you put this on the inside of the lid/eye or the outside?

Sara Simonovska says:

I have one on my under lid and its inside. I tried the vinegar thing yesterday, but today it looks more red then it was. Is this a usual thing that happened to you too or no? Please let me know.

Thanks! I have had one for 4months now. I thought I might have to go to the doctor.I been using acv for 5 days now. It's half the size and softer.

zainab bibi says:

hi maria i applied ACV it didnt burn my eye at all will it work on my eye because you told it burned your eye

Shawn says:

I had mine for like just over 2 months, went to the doctor, she gave me some pills and an ointment. Finished it all and still not a sign of improvement. I have done the teabag method, hot compression, eye drops, etc. Right now on Day 2 of trying the ACV.

Just a question – how long did it take for you to see improvement, and what kind of improvement did you see? Some people have said the Chalazion came to a head and all the oil inside pretty much leaked out. I was wondering if that was the case with you?

Laury Ricquebourg says:

How do you apply the apple cider ?

jennifer quito says:

I wanted to ask if you had the chalazion in the inside or outside of your eye lib , and if you have the chalazion on the inside of your eye what can you do ?

JudasPriest714 says:

So I've had mine since last December and me being a dumbass figured it would go away on its own so I never really did much to it. I just recently started warm compress yesterday and haven't noticed much a difference. Think I would need the surgery or would this method work?

Michelle Eaglin says:

Hi maria, did you rub the vinegar on the actual bump inside or on the outside? Thanks
